Colleen’s been working her butt off. I’ve been hanging out a lot with the kids… It’s a lot like squirrels saving up nuts for the winter, only it’s Colleen working on Debutante dresses and saving up dollars for the winter. In Colorado it seemed like bridal season lasted all year long, but here there is definitely a lull.
School starts tomorrow.
Mason starts school tomorrow. I was looking at a book with Mason tonight and, totally unprompted by me, starts saying, “Woof, woof, woof!” There was a picture of puppies. He’s not quite as far along as Violet was at this point, so when he does things like that it’s just super-cool and hilarious at the same time.
Today, Violet was playing in the kitchen while I was cooking breakfast. She stopped what she was doing, and said, “I’m coming Daisy!”. Then, she looked at me and said, “Daisy’s meowing.” She talks to that cat all the time now. In the last few weeks she’s become awfully close to her. Daisy took a nap in Mason’s crib for several hours this morning.
Another cute Violet story… We were sitting, flipping through the channels on the television and landed on the Republican National Convention for a very brief second, and Violet looks at me and says, “It’s like the circus!”
