I got off my lazy butt today and took the kids outside. Do you know how much work it is to take two kids outside to play? The idea of wrangling the two of them in the same direction is almost too much to think about. Colleen took the two of them to Jumpin’ Beans a few weeks ago, while suffering that miserable cold. That’s unthinkable to me. It was easy to do when Mason wasn’t mobile, but now that he’s got his own mind, it’s a different story.

Here’s one for you… what do you do when your two year old falls asleep, unintentionally, twenty minutes before you are to leave on an outing? If you have the answer that includes getting her out of the house without including a massive meltdown, I would please like to know that answer. We were going to go to an Easter program at the church of a friend mine, she was having no part of it.

We fear that Mason might be graduating to one nap a day instead of two. It’s a sad day. Those few “quiet” hours with only one of them awake are a precious few hours. Don’t get me wrong, we love playing with them all day, but you get so much more done around the house when there’s only one undoing the work you’ve just done.

I took this picture of Violet today that gave me a look in to the future. I swear she looks old in this picture. I can’t put my finger on how old, but old. She keeps telling me to quit taking her picture. That is, also, very sad to me that she can now tell me to stop.
