I know we’ve been celebrating Mason’s birthday for (what seems like) weeks. He had his last birthday party tonight with just the family. It was a nice, quiet affair with cupcakes and a couple presents. That boy loves to blow out his birthday candles.
He got a Fisher Price Cash Register and some more Legos this evening, not to mention cards from all the Grandparents. Thank you, Grandparents!
He’s such a little man now. He’s talking up a storm, finally. Yesterday I was talking to him on the phone and said, “Happy Birthday!” He said something back to me with just as many syllables that was very close to sounding like “Happy Birthday!” What a smart little guy. Did I mention that he called me on Colleen’s cellphone? Purely accidental, I suppose, but I answered and he started talking.
I have to settle, lately, for the more non-traditional photos of my daughter. She absolutely refuses to have her picture taken unless it’s purely under her own terms. I’m working on hanging some of my photographs around the house and needed a new picture of Violet, so I talked her in to a little mini-photoshoot. This is what I got in return:
